EXPERIENCED BREAKFAST & PREP COOK | Full-Time | Monday-Friday | $18-$20/hour + shared tips
Délice Breton is a family-owned French bistro, crêperie, and market in San Juan Capistrano. We are looking for an experienced, dependable Breakfast Cook to join our Back-of-House team full-time.
This is a hands-on kitchen role for someone who already understands prep, breakfast/lunch service, food safety, clean stations, and the pace of a professional kitchen. The right person will have the opportunity to grow into a Kitchen Lead role over time.
THE SCHEDULE
Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm

The shift begins with morning mise en place and kitchen setup, followed by breakfast and lunch service.
PAY
Base pay: $18-$20 per hour, based on experience
BOH team members also receive a share of credit card tips. Typical total compensation, including hourly pay and shared tips, is approximately $25-$29 per hour. Actual tip earnings vary depending on business levels and staffing.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Opening the kitchen and completing morning prep
- Following recipes, portioning ingredients, and maintaining food quality
- Preparing breakfast items, eggs, omelets, potatoes, bacon, and other hot menu items
- Assembling hot and cold croissants, sandwiches, salads, and avocado toasts
- Learning our sweet and savory crêpe techniques
- Keeping stations clean, stocked, organized, and sanitary
- Labeling, dating, storing, and rotating food properly
- Receiving deliveries and helping keep storage organized
- Sharing dishwashing, cleaning, and closing responsibilities with the BOH team
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 2 years of paid professional kitchen experience
- Valid Food Handler Card
- Comfortable with breakfast and lunch service
- Able to follow recipes, work cleanly, and move efficiently during service
- Reliable transportation and ability to consistently arrive at 6:00am
- Calm, respectful, and professional under pressure
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
You do not need French restaurant experience. We will train you on our menu, recipes, and standards. We are looking for someone with a strong kitchen foundation who cares about consistency, teamwork, and doing things properly.
